Abstract. Gentiana acaulis was propagated by cuttings in four dates and treated with four rooting stimulators. The percentage of rooted cuttings depended on date of experiment and kind of stimulator. The best date for rooting was August, the worst October. Stimulators containing NAA (0.2%) or NAA (0.3%) with IBA (0.05%) were found to be the best for rooting in all dates of the experiment. Cuttings from the control produced the least number of roots.

Summary
Gentiana acaulis is numbered among protected plants. The environment of its occurrence still decreases. To prevent this fact it is necessary to improve the methods of propagation. Gentiana acaulis was propagated by cuttings on four dates: June, July, August, October and treated with four rooting stimulators: Ukorzeniacz A, Ukorzeniacz B, Ukorzeniacz B2, Ukorzeniacz AB. The highest percentage of rooted plants was obtained in August – 100%, the lowest in October – 80%. Stimulators containing NAA (0.2%) or NAA (0.3%) with IBA (0.05%) were found to be the best for rooting on all dates of experiment. Stimulators significantly effected the rooting process in comparison to control and it is recommended in the nursery production to apply stimulators in order to increase the percentage of rooted cuttings.
